We plan to publish the full-text papers in September.”

After Emre Tandırlı’s opening speech, BAIBU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Samettin Gündüz took the podium and said, “I am very happy to host you, our valuable scientists, who came to the second International Artificial Intelligence and Hypermedia Symposium organized by our Faculty of Communication this year, at our university in the heart of nature, and I welcome you.”

“STUDENTS SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED TO BE INDIVIDUALS WHO CREATE JOB AND NOT JUST SEEK JOB”

Following the opening speeches, YÖKAK President Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak made a presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence Algorithms in Quality Studies”. In his speech, Kocabıçak said, “Students should be encouraged to be individuals who create jobs, not just job seekers.” “The ‘Future of Jobs Report 2025’ published by the World Economic Forum (WEF) sheds light on the rapidly changing dynamics of the labor market. It reveals that 22% of jobs will transform by 2030. The prominent titles should mobilize not only the business world but also universities.”

Following Ümit Kocabıçak’s presentation, Maltepe University Rector Prof. Dr. Edibe Sözen shared data from a study they conducted with their students in her presentation titled “The Effects of Artificial Intelligence on Our Social Life,” and said, “92% of young people actively use social media, and the majority are open to learning about artificial intelligence.”

Prof. Dr. Asaf Varol presented the topic “Innovations in Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Studies” to the students of the Faculty of Communication and the participants of the International Communication Days Symposium. Asaf Varol pointed out that texts produced with artificial intelligence can be presented as human products and pointed out ethical questions. “Artificial intelligence is a technology that strengthens human wisdom, but it is also a tool open to its misuse,” he said.

In the last presentation of the morning session, Dr. Lecturer Evangelina Parisi, who participated from Greece, explained artificial intelligence-supported education models. Evangelina Parisi said in her presentation, “AI-based virtual assistants are becoming important to enrich the learning experience. However, in countries like Greece, infrastructure deficiencies and the adaptation process of teachers still pose problems. The confidentiality of student data, the issue of accuracy and the transformation of teacher roles are among the critical issues. For a successful integration, educators' equipment, infrastructure, curriculum and ethical rules should be addressed together.”
