Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Faculty of Communication is preparing to host once again an important academic event that brings together developments in the fields of media, technology and artificial intelligence from an interdisciplinary perspective. As part of the preparation work carried out for the “BAİBÜİLEF-İG 2025: 2nd International Artificial Intelligence and Hypermedia Symposium”, which will be organized by our faculty for the second time this year, the Symposium Commission held its regular planning meeting.

The preparation process of the symposium to be held between May 12-14, 2025 was evaluated in a multifaceted manner at the meeting. While the commission members made decisions on the organizational, visual and logistical dimensions of the event, they came together with a comprehensive agenda regarding academic content, participant planning and student contribution.

Agenda Items and Decisions Made
The following decisions were made within the framework of the agenda items discussed at the meeting:

1. Current State of the Preparation Process
The academic infrastructure of the symposium, session titles, invited speakers and the calendar created for the papers to be sent were evaluated and updated. New steps were taken to ensure that the process progressed more efficiently and in a planned manner this year, especially based on the experiences of the previous year.

2. Evaluation of Posters from 2024
The issue of reusing the tarpaulin posters left over from the symposium held last year was discussed in detail at the meeting. It was stated that it would not be possible to use the posters one-on-one for the 2025 organization, but that they could be re-evaluated for visual purposes in some areas by cutting out the date sections or covering them in terms of design. Thus, it is aimed to use resources efficiently and act in accordance with sustainability principles.

3. Promotional Materials and Organization Details
Important decisions were made regarding the materials and promotional products to be prepared for the event. In this context, the contents of the following items were determined to be used throughout the symposium:

Program Flow Brochure
Provincial and Institution Protocol and Special Invitations for Keynote Speakers
Name Badges, Hanging Strings and Transparent Devices
Participation and Thank You Certificates
Promotion Kit (Mouse Pad, chocolate etc. gifts in a cloth bag)

The contents of the items were determined. Responsibilities were distributed for the design and printing processes of the materials and logistics supply.

4. Planning of Student Assignments
A detailed plan was made on the selection and job descriptions of the students who will work in different areas during the symposium. In this process, which will be carried out under the coordination of the Communication Workshop, it was decided to create a task distribution chart together with the students supported by İŞKUR. Students will be actively involved in different task areas such as welcoming, orientation, registration, technical support, press and social media.

Academic Content Integrates with Technological Vision

BAİBÜ Faculty of Communication attaches great importance to such international organizations in order to support qualified academic production in the fields of media and technology and to encourage interdisciplinary dialogue on rising topics such as digitalization and artificial intelligence.

The symposium, which is shaped around the theme of “Artificial Intelligence and Hypermedia”, will discuss contemporary issues such as digital culture, algorithmic content production, data-based communication, media arts and artificial intelligence ethics. This event, which will be held with the participation of expert academics and researchers in the field as well as sector representatives, aims to further increase the visibility of our faculty in the international academic arena.
