COURSE ADD-DROP / ADVISOR APPROVALS
An academic year at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Faculty of Arts and Sciences consists of two semesters called fall and spring. Courses are held in 14 weeks of a 17-week academic semester, end-of-term exams are held in 2 weeks, and make-up exams are held in 1 week.
This article, which details the "Course Add-Drop and Advisor Approvals" process, which is the second phase of fall and spring semester educational activities, has been prepared to inform our stakeholders.

• A faculty member/staff member, determined by the Department Head, from among the faculty members working in the department staff, is assigned to each student who is entitled to register to Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department/Programs to advise them throughout the education and training process from the registration date until graduation.
• The courses registered by students during the "Course Registration" process are reviewed and approved by the advisors at this stage.
• The start and end dates of the "Course Add-Drop/Advisor Approvals" process, which begins at the end of the "Course Registration" process in the fall and spring semesters, should be followed on the "Academic Calendar".
• Students must meet with their advisors face to face during the "Add-Drop/Advisor Approvals" process.
• The advisor compares the student's course registration list with the department's curriculum and provides general control of course registrations.
• In the presence of the student, any possible incorrect registrations made during the “Course Registration” process are corrected and if there are any missing courses, course registrations are made for them.
• It is checked that the student has completed the compulsory courses and elective course pools of the lower semesters and the compulsory courses and elective pool of the current academic semester in the required number of courses.
• Course changes and course addition-deletion transactions made during this process are written by the student in the blank space below the course registration list.
• A printout (signed by the student) showing the list of courses registered by the students through the University Information Management System during the “Course Registration” process is submitted to the advisor. (Course registration lists are archived by advisors.)
• Final course registration is made together with the student based on the graduation transcript data.
• Course registrations of students who do not register for courses due to a valid excuse during the “Course Registration” process can be made during this process.
• After the completion of the “Course Registrations” and “Course Add-Drop/Advisor Approvals” processes, a course registered through the “University Information Management System” cannot be dropped. Registration for a new course, course change, or course substitution cannot be done.
