Dear Students,
The Faculty of Communication at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University was established with the aim of training ethical, responsible, and competent communicators; producing high-quality academic knowledge in the field of communication; and sharing this knowledge with society. Our faculty began its educational activities in the 2015-2016 academic year with the Journalism Department, comprised of faculty members each experienced and highly competent in their respective fields; and continues its educational activities with the Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising, Radio Television and Cinema, and finally, Visual Communication Design Departments.
The communication sector is constantly transforming with digitalization, artificial intelligence technologies, data-driven production processes, and multidisciplinary working models. Our faculty has an educational approach that closely follows this transformation; integrates theory and practice; and aims to train graduates equipped to meet sectoral needs. We believe it is important for our students to graduate not only with technical skills but also with critical thinking skills, a sense of ethical responsibility, social sensitivity, and strong communication reflexes.
In line with our student-centered approach; We offer an enriched educational environment through practical workshops, field experiences, industry collaborations, and the effective use of current communication technologies. Our aim is to train the qualified human resources needed by the communication sector while simultaneously ensuring that our students are prepared for life as productive, happy, and versatile individuals who enjoy their profession.
Our faculty considers it its duty to train communicators who are committed to national and spiritual values; who carry a sense of responsibility towards their country, society, and humanity; who prioritize truth and consider the public good. We operate with an academic vision that will contribute to the development of communication in Turkey, enable us to compete on a global scale, and at the same time protect and strengthen our local values.
Within a broad perspective ranging from AI-supported production processes to the digital media ecosystem, from data journalism to strategic communication, we aim for our students to become communicators who shape the future, not just adapt to it. In this regard, we resolutely continue our education and training activities with our constantly developing, self-renewing, and quality-assurance-oriented institutional structure.
As the Faculty of Communication; We consider it our fundamental priority to resolutely build and develop a strong, sustainable, and high-quality academic climate based on knowledge, ethics, responsibility, and production.
