The Visual Communication Design Department made significant changes to the 8-semester course plan prepared by the department head Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı at the board meeting held on April 25, 2025. The course plan was updated at the meeting, taking into account the current needs of the sector and future design trends. Click for the Meeting Minutes.

Course Names and Contents: The names and contents of some courses were updated, allowing the program to have a more dynamic and contemporary structure.
ECTS Credits: The ECTS credits of some courses were rearranged, trying to balance the workload of students. The ECTS credits of the "Basic Design I" course were increased from 5 to 6.
Elective Course Pool: The elective course pool was expanded in order to provide students with the opportunity to specialize more and focus on their areas of interest. New courses such as "Current Art Thoughts," "Cartoons and Animation," "Artificial Intelligence-Supported Design" were added to the program.
Out-of-field Elective Courses: Out-of-field elective courses have been added to support students in gaining knowledge from different disciplines.
Practical and Theoretical Hours: Adjustments have been made to the practical and theoretical hours of some courses.
4th Year Elective Courses: 4th year elective courses have been restructured to better prepare students for their graduation projects.
These revisions aim to provide the students of the Visual Communication Design Department with the knowledge and skills needed by the sector and to prepare them in the best way possible for the design world of the future.
