Artificial Intelligence and Ethical Issues Were Discussed in the 4th Session of the 2nd Day of BAIBUILEF-IG 2025

On the second day of the 2nd International Artificial Intelligence and Hypermedia Symposium held at the Faculty of Communication of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, the session titled “Artificial Intelligence and Ethical Issues” was held in the Z-155 class of the Faculty of Communication, moderated by Res. Asst. Selin Akınç Akpınar.

The session, attended by academics from different universities, addressed the ethical issues that artificial intelligence creates in many areas such as the information ecosystem, academic culture and facial recognition technologies.

In the first presentation, Havva Yüksel and Cansu Açıkalın touched on the importance of artificial intelligence literacy in the age of disinformation. Then, Cansu Açıkalın conveyed how productive artificial intelligence has transformed the research culture and what new academic approaches are in accessing information.

In the presentation presented by Sedanur Zengin, ethical issues that arise in artificial intelligence applications were examined through the example of facial recognition technology in China. Zengin drew attention to the effects of technology on individual rights.

At the end of the session, Assistant Professor Ebru Hançer and Assistant Professor Kezban Özer analyzed the publications on artificial intelligence and marketing ethics in Turkey from a bibliometric perspective. The presentations ended with questions and answers.
