Graduation ceremony of our university's Faculty of Communication, Journalism, Public Relations and Publicity, Radio, Television and Cinema departments was held.
The ceremony held in the Congress Center Bordo Hall was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Samettin Gündüz, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı, academic and administrative staff, students and their families.
A moment of silence and the National Anthem were sung; opening and protocol speeches were made.
Addressing the graduates at the ceremony, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Samettin Gündüz briefly said, “Today, we are here not to witness the end of an era, but the threshold of a new beginning. Dear young people, you did not only acquire knowledge during your university years. You also learned to think, question, produce and influence. Today, you carry with you not only a diploma, but also a perspective, a responsibility and a right to speak. Journalism, Public Relations and Promotion, Radio, Television and Cinema departments, as well as professional equipment, also impose on you the responsibility of managing the truth, developing sensitivity towards society and being individuals who have a say. Communication is one of the most powerful social dynamics of our age. It is a power that holds a society together, makes the invisible visible and makes the silent audible. You will now use this power not only with technical knowledge, but also with a sense of responsibility, a sense of justice and a human intuition. Our university has tried to provide you with not only knowledge, but also a sense of value, awareness and solidarity.” and expressed his gratitude to the valuable families and academics who educate our students.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to students who were ranked in faculties and departments; the students were given their graduation certificates by their academic staff. Throwing their caps into the air, the students celebrated their graduation with enthusiasm. Following the ceremony, the graduation exhibition prepared by the students of the Faculty of Communication was visited.
