As part of the 2025–2026 Academic Year Orientation Days, the Faculty of Communication at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University visited the Radio Uni 14 Studios, one of our university's powerful communication platforms. This event, organized for the newly admitted first-year students, was notable for its introductory and informative nature.
Mert Minisker, President of the Bolu Journalists' Association, our sector partner, also attended the visit and shared his experiences with the students. Also present were Communication Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülşah Sarı, Journalism Department Head Prof. Dr. Selami Özsoy, Research Assistant from the Public Relations and Publicity Department Selin Akınç Akpınar, and our young graduate Yağız Ekmen, who is actively working in the Bolu press. Ramazan Sarı, General Coordinator of Radio Univ. 14, provided students with comprehensive information about studio operations, broadcasting techniques, and program preparation processes. Students had the opportunity to observe broadcasting firsthand and gain exposure to the practical aspects of their profession in a studio environment.
Radio Univ. 14, one of our university's most established student radio stations, continues its broadcasting tradition while also providing a practical training ground for young communication professionals. This experience allowed students to develop their professional vision by immersing themselves in the broadcasting industry, not just with theoretical knowledge.
The event once again highlighted our Faculty of Communication's quality-focused education approach, strong ties with the industry, and practical opportunities offered to our students. Students who attended the visit expressed their satisfaction with both the university's facilities and our faculty's strong vision in the field of communication.
Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University's Faculty of Communication, with its approach that combines theory and practice in education, continues to develop its students as individuals prepared for the dynamics of the industry. The visit to Radio Uni 14 studio took an important place in the orientation program as one of the most concrete indicators of this vision.
