"Bolu's Tourism Strategies" Workshop Held

A workshop titled "Bolu's Tourism Strategies: Cultural Identity, Handicrafts, and Field Realities" was held as part of the Bolu Research and Folk Culture Symposium.

The workshop, held in the Bordo Hall of the Congress Center, was moderated by Assistant Professor İsa Bayhan. The event was attended by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Samettin Gündüz and Prof. Dr. Aydın Him, as well as academics, students, and a large audience.

The workshop addressed Bolu's tourism potential, cultural identity, the contribution of handicrafts to tourism, and field realities from various perspectives.

The speeches began with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Binali Tercan. In his presentation titled "The Formation and Transformation of Bolu's New City Center," Tercan evaluated the city's spatial development and the impact of transformation processes on tourism. Following this, Ayşe Nazikar Karahan, in her presentation titled "The Contribution of Handicrafts to Tourism: The Case of Bolu," addressed the contributions of local handicrafts to the regional economy. Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı, in her presentation titled "Bolu's Cultural and Touristic Identity in the Context of City Symbols," emphasized the importance of the symbols that shape the city's identity in tourism strategies. Cumhur Bandakçıoğlu, in his presentation titled "Bolu's Tourism Diversity and Field Realities," assessed the city's potential for different types of tourism, based on field data.

Finally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Çark and Lecturer Yunus Çelebi, in their presentation titled "Evaluations of Bolu's Tourism Potential in Terms of Crisis Management Following the Kartalkaya Hotel Fire," shared with the audience the impact of crisis management processes on tourism perception and sustainability.

At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to the participants, and a group photo was taken to commemorate the occasion.
