As part of our community service activities, a digital marketing and advertising training was held in Göynük.

The Faculty of Communication at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University successfully implemented another important field study in Göynük, in line with the university's mission of social contribution. The Digital Marketing and Advertising Training, organized in collaboration with the Göynük Family Support Center, aimed to support women in Göynük in becoming more active, productive, and visible individuals in the digital world.

Academic Knowledge Transferred to the Field

Within the scope of the training program conducted at the Göynük Family Support Center, the academic expertise and current communication approaches of the Faculty of Communication were directly transferred to the field. The training covered digital marketing strategies, advertising, new media practices, and brand management from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı was thanked for his academic and organizational contributions to the training preparation process, while Dr. Mahmut Rıfkı Ünal, the main facilitator of the training program, shared current approaches in brand management and digital communication with the participants.

Theoretical Framework Focused on Brand Management and Digital Communication

In the theoretical explanations given by faculty member Mahmut Rıfkı Ünal, it was emphasized that a brand is not merely a logo or visual element, but rather a comprehensive perception management process encompassing name, symbol, color, personality, and experience. The training highlighted that effective brand management creates a consistent, reliable, and value-creating structure in the minds of the target audience; this structure is critically important for loyalty, competitiveness, and sustainability. Participants were also taught fundamental principles regarding brand identity, strategic positioning, effective communication with the target audience, and accurate brand representation in digital media. In this context, the importance of brand awareness for women entrepreneurs and producers in today's digital world was discussed with examples.

Practical Workshop on Advertising Photography

The training program was supported by practical exercises in addition to theoretical explanations. In the Advertising Photography Workshop conducted by Dr. Mahmut Rıfkı Ünal, participants gained practical experience in fundamental photography techniques, framing, lighting, and visual storytelling elements for effectively presenting products and services on digital platforms. This workshop provided a significant benefit to participants in terms of developing their skills in creating their own content within digital marketing processes.

A Strong Example of University-Community Collaboration

Following the training, academics and students from the Faculty of Communication visited the Göynük Family Support Center and learned about the courses, social activities, and women-focused initiatives conducted within the center. This visit stood out as a concrete and sustainable example of interaction between the university and the community.

Emphasis on Continuity and Quality in Social Contribution

The BAİBÜ Faculty of Communication, through its social contribution projects, resolutely maintains its characteristic of being a faculty that not only produces knowledge but also shares that knowledge with the community, engages with the field, and prioritizes local development. This training program conducted in Göynük stands out as a current example of the faculty's intensive and high-quality social contribution efforts.

The Faculty of Communication will continue to bring its academic knowledge to different segments of society, contribute to the empowerment of women in the digital world, and spread the scientific power of our university to all areas of society.
