On Friday, December 19, 2025, senior students from Bolu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School visited the Faculty of Communication at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University. We were delighted to host the students during this meaningful visit to our faculty.
The visit program began with a general introductory briefing about our faculty. The Faculty of Communication's educational philosophy, academic structure, and vision were comprehensively explained to the students. Particular emphasis was placed on our faculty's contemporary and quality-oriented approach, which prioritizes education; it was stated that our teaching model, which integrates theory and practice, prepares students with high-level skills for the communication sector.
As part of the program, all departments of our faculty, our current and dynamic curriculum, the prominent content of our theoretical and practical courses, our rich and interdisciplinary elective course pool, and the non-field elective courses offered throughout the university were introduced to the students in detail. Our accreditation-ready structure, strong academic staff, and our leading position among communication faculties in the Western Black Sea Region in terms of publications and projects were particularly highlighted.
“Communication Empowered by Education: Building the Future from Theory to Practice”
During the visit, in line with the understanding of “Communication Empowered by Education: Building the Future from Theory to Practice,” the high-quality academic environment offered by our faculty was conveyed with concrete examples. Our goal of training individuals who can think in a multifaceted way, possess an analytical perspective, and quickly adapt to the changing communication ecosystem, under the guidance of our expert faculty members, was shared with the students in detail.
The practical facilities of our faculty also constituted an important part of the visit. Students visited the Communication Workshop, the TV Studio, and Radio Uni 14 Practice Radio, gaining the opportunity to closely observe our professional production infrastructure. In the Communication Workshop, students learned about the shooting, editing, and post-production processes and observed all stages of media production firsthand.
At Radio Uni 14 Practice Radio, technical presentations were given by the General Coordinator of the Practice Radio, Ramazan Sarı; students were given the opportunity to experience the practical application of radio broadcasting firsthand. Thus, the practical application of our educational model, extending from theory to practice, was directly demonstrated in the field.
Our Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı, our Vice Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülşah Sarı, and Hayrettin Karataş actively contributed to the visit program, introducing our faculty in detail in all its aspects. This comprehensive presentation, ranging from our classrooms to our practical training areas, allowed students to closely observe the quality of communication education.
After a group photo session, the visit concluded, and the students left our faculty with a vision of communication education equipped with high-quality education, a strong academic staff, and a professional application infrastructure. As the Faculty of Communication, we are determined to continue training the communicators of the future with an educational approach focused on quality, production, and continuous development.
