COURSE PLANNING FOR THE 2025–2026 ACADEMIC YEAR FINALIZED AT THE DEPARTMENT OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN

The Department of Visual Communication Design at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Faculty of Communication, held its Regular Department Board Meeting on February 3, 2026, to evaluate course planning and finalize instructor assignments for the 2025–2026 Academic Year.

The meeting was conducted face-to-face between 13:30 and 14:30 at the Faculty of Communication Meeting Room and was organized by the Department Chair. All academic and administrative staff of the department attended the meeting, and photographic documentation was produced as official evidence.

QUALITY-ORIENTED ACADEMIC PLANNING

Chaired by Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı, Head of the Department of Visual Communication Design, the meeting focused on academic quality, program coherence, and sustainable education planning. The 8-semester curriculum, previously updated in line with former board decisions, served as the main reference for determining instructor assignments for the 2nd and 4th semesters of the Spring Term.

Key criteria considered during the deliberations included:
  • Alignment between course content and instructors’ areas of expertise
  • Theoretical or practical nature of courses
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Overall integrity and sustainability of the curriculum
DECISIONS AND OUTCOMES

As a result of the discussions, instructor assignments for first- and second-year courses in the 2025–2026 Spring Semester were approved. In addition, decisions were made regarding the opening or cancellation of selected elective courses. The meeting was held as an Expanded Regular Department Board Meeting, ensuring a participatory and pluralistic decision-making process in line with quality management principles.

COMMITMENT TO A QUALIFIED EDUCATIONAL STRUCTURE

With these decisions, the Department of Visual Communication Design aims to ensure that courses in the 2025–2026 Academic Year are conducted in a planned, effective, and high-quality manner. The board also emphasized that the course distribution may be revised if necessary through future department board decisions.
