As part of the in-service training activities conducted by Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, a training seminar on "Methods of Coping with Stress" was held in cooperation with the Bolu Governorship. The program, held in the Bolu Governorship In-Service Training Hall, attracted significant interest from governorship employees.
In the seminar, given by psychologist Dr. Evgin Miçooğulları, the psychological effects of modern life on individuals were evaluated from multiple perspectives. The training, conducted in an interactive atmosphere with participants, included examples from daily life, and the effects of work life, family life, and digitalization on human psychology were discussed with practical explanations.
At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Miçooğulları focused on the definition of stress, stating that stress is a natural condition present in human life from birth. She emphasized that when stress is managed correctly, it is a necessary element for an individual to maintain their life, but stressed that chronic and uncontrolled stress can lead to many psychological problems, primarily depression.
The seminar focused particularly on the pressures individuals face due to the intense pace of modern urban life, workload, and family responsibilities. The impact of digitalization on daily life was also discussed; it was stated that mobile phones, televisions, and digital communication tools can weaken communication between individuals and increase communication breakdowns within families.
Dr. Miçooğulları also drew attention to the social and psychological consequences of stress in family life, focusing on societal effects such as communication problems, emotional distance, and increased divorce rates. Stating that the digital age leaves individuals in a constant state of mental strain, Miçooğulları emphasized that establishing healthy communication and managing stress have become more important than ever.
In the practical part of the seminar, participants experienced stress management techniques firsthand. Breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and body stretching movements were performed practically with the participants. The event, which shared relaxation techniques that can be applied in short periods within the pace of daily life, provided participants with the opportunity to gain both theoretical and practical knowledge.
At the end of the program, which saw high participation, attendees stated that the seminar had raised their awareness in both their personal and professional lives, and that the training had been very productive.
