Agenda Item (Our Activities and Actions)
A general evaluation of the activities and actions carried out after the last academic general assembly held in the 2024 Spring term: Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı
1. After the last extended academic general assembly meeting we held before the Spring term, we received proud news from our Head of Public Relations and Publicity Department Hasan. Our faculty confirmed that it is a leader in the field of mass communication with the analysis data of TÜBİTAK published at the beginning of 2024. In other words, we managed to reach the top ranks in Turkey alone with our publication numbers in this field! I would like to thank my broadcasting instructors at this point.
2. Later, when we came to March, our students from the Radio, Television and Cinema department started working on our school radio under the “Radio Workshop”. Of course, a radio workshop was established beforehand. Auditions were held. Students working at the radio started working intensively on our radio. Radio Uni14 also started broadcasting over the internet in the meantime. 3. Again in March, we received very good news for our faculty departments. Our application for İLEDAK Accreditation was evaluated and approval and acceptance letters came for both departments. Thus, the process for the accreditation of our faculty, which is the only faculty of health sciences in our institution, the rehabilitation department, has officially started for our faculty Public Relations and Publicity AND Ration Television and Cinema departments. Our faculty Accreditation Commission convened after our application for the acceptance letter from İLAD and the roadmap to follow, and we reviewed the action plan we had created within the scope of the criteria. We added new items to the 23-item AEP (accreditation action plan) list. We started working on the AEP, which has a total of 29 items. In addition, our Faculty Education-Teaching and Exam Regulation, which was recently completed regarding education, training and exam practices and which is the basis for the board decisions, was reviewed with the commission members for the last time. Among the main topics highlighted in AEP, work plans and task distributions were made on many topics such as equal and fair distribution of course advisors from research assistants to faculty members, new Erasmus agreements, graduate follow-up action plan, graduate meetings focused on professional experience sharing, curriculum development studies with external stakeholders in the sector, team work in courses and the creation of evidence for these, implementation of graduation projects with a focus on practice and jury, etc. We have now provided most of these. Our guests Kamil Keleş and Ayhan Karaman discussed the strategies implemented in line with the goals of being visible and coming to the fore in today's new media, as well as user experience-focused approaches in achieving commercial success with technological opportunities in our event organized by Evrensel Medya Topluluğu, one of the Student Communities of our 4th faculty. Conversations continued on the AR application that increases the demand of users and growth trends in trade. Very valuable advice was provided to our students from within the sector. Finally, the event ended with Sakıp Sabancı's words, "It is necessary to know a little of everything, everything of something" and it was announced that 5 people who tagged our Evrensem Media community and themselves would be given a meta education set.
5. The Newspaper and Magazine Design Exhibition consisting of the works of our Journalism Department students was opened.
