The orientation presentation for the first-year students of our Journalism Department for the 2023-24 academic year was held.

The orientation for the first-year students of the Journalism Department began with the speech of our Department Head Prof. Dr. Selami Özsoy.
“As a department, we are ready for all your needs and applications, we are here.”
Prof. Dr. Selami Özsoy started his speech by stating that the Journalism Department is the oldest department and said that the academic and administrative staff of the department can provide consultancy to students who make official applications on all matters.
Then, the Dean of our Faculty Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı stated in his speech that preparing individuals for life is a sacred duty. Dean Tandırlı also emphasized to the first-year Journalism students that in order to be successful in a globally competitive environment, one must be innovative, creative and productive.
Then, other faculty members in the department gave short speeches. Then, the university was introduced. The university's management, structure, facilities, opportunities, etc. Dean Tandırlı made an introductory presentation that outlined the necessary information.
Following his presentation, Faculty Secretary Hayrettin Karataş provided important information about the functioning and administrative issues during the student process. Karataş provided information about important issues such as the academic calendar, document requests, etc. Underlining how useful the live support platform Empatilef developed by the faculty administration is in important and intensive processes of the academic calendar such as registrations, exams, graduations, etc., Karataş thanked Dean Tandırlı on behalf of the administrative staff for the support he gave to this project. Our faculty student representative Tevhide İrem Zorlu opened her own student information system and showed all the details about the topics of interest via a curtain reflection.
The orientation program was well attended.
