The orientation presentation of our Radio, Television and Cinema Department for the 2023-2024 academic year was held for first-year students.

The orientation held for the first-year students of the Radio, Television and Cinema Department began with the speech of our Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Derya Çetin.

“As a department, we are here to provide you with the most qualified professional qualifications.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Derya Çetin stated that the Radio, Television and Cinema Department is a program conducted in the theory and practice department and started her speech by stating that the academic and administrative staff of the department are ready to provide the most qualified and high-quality education and training services to students, especially in terms of competitions, sectoral experiences and professional qualifications, and also to gladly provide consultancy support in all kinds of innovative and creative projects.

Then, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atacak Şimşek, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yunus Emre Ökmen and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Küngerü informed the first-year Radio, Television and Cinema students about the courses they will teach and their areas of expertise, respectively. Finally, the department research assistant Ali Şahin shared basic information about the general functioning of the department, course, exam and project processes.

The presentations continued with the speech of our faculty dean Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı; Dean Tandırlı, who started his speech by saying that he felt a different excitement in each of the department orientations held every year, expressed that the energy behind this excitement was the interdisciplinary new production types of the art and design fields that were handled with passion. Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı mentioned that the first-year students of the radio, television and cinema department would specialize in the fields of art, design and social sciences in the four-year period ahead of them and that they would be prepared for the sector in the most equipped way with the projects they would produce as the joint product of these fields. He also emphasized that in this context, it is necessary to be innovative, creative and productive in order to be successful in a global competitive environment.

Then, the university introduction was started. Dean Tandırlı made the introductory presentation that outlined the necessary information such as the university's management, structure, facilities, opportunities etc. Following his presentation, Faculty Secretary Hayrettin Karataş provided important information about the functioning and administrative issues during the student process. Karataş provided information about important issues such as the academic calendar, document requests, etc. Underlining how useful the live support platform Empatilef developed by the faculty administration is in important and intensive processes of the academic calendar such as registrations, exams, graduations, etc., Karataş thanked Dean Tandırlı on behalf of the administrative staff for the support he provided to this project. Our faculty student representative Tevhide İrem Zorlu opened her own student information system and showed all the details about the topics of interest via a curtain reflection.

The orientation program was well attended.
