In accordance with Article 44 of Higher Education Law No. 2547 and Article 18 of the Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, titled "Supplementary Exams," supplementary exams will be administered to senior students who have completed their maximum period of study by petition at the end of the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. The first supplementary exam will be held in person between September 10-12, 2025, and the second supplementary exam will be held between September 17-19, 2025.

Article 44, paragraph (c) of Law No. 2547 on Higher Education states: "Students must complete two-year associate degree programs within a maximum of four years, four-year undergraduate programs within a maximum of seven years, five-year undergraduate programs within a maximum of eight years, and six-year undergraduate programs within a maximum of nine years, regardless of whether they register for each semester, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are enrolled in are offered, excluding the one-year foreign language preparatory class." Article 44, paragraph (c) of Law No. 2547 on Higher Education states: “…However, in order to graduate from the educational institution in which they are registered at the end of these periods, senior students are granted the right to take two supplementary exams for all courses they have failed. Those who reduce the number of failed courses to five courses after these exams are granted the right to take these five courses for three semesters. Students who fail up to five courses without taking the supplementary exams are granted the right to take the exams for four semesters (two academic years in institutions operating on a grade-separation basis). Those who fail one course are granted the right to take the exams for the course they failed without benefiting from student rights.”

Accordingly, senior students who have completed the maximum period of study (7 years) at the end of the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year and wish to take the supplementary exams must apply in person to the Faculty Department Secretariat by the end of business hours on Monday, September 8, 2025, or send their complete petition, including an attachment, to ilef@ibu.edu.tr.
