In accordance with Article 44 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and Article 18 titled "Supplementary Exams" of the Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education, Teaching and Examination Regulations, supplementary exams will be held at the end of the Fall semester of the 2025-2026 academic year for final year students who have completed their maximum period of study and have applied with a petition. The first supplementary exam will be held face-to-face between February 5-7, 2026, and the second supplementary exam will be held face-to-face between February 11-13, 2026.

Article 44, paragraph (c) of the Higher Education Law No. 2547: “Students, excluding the one-year foreign language preparatory class, must complete their studies within a maximum of four years for associate degree programs with a duration of two years, a maximum of seven years for bachelor's degree programs with a duration of four years, a maximum of eight years for bachelor's degree programs with a duration of five years, and a maximum of nine years for bachelor's degree programs with a duration of six years, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are enrolled in are given, regardless of whether they register for each semester or not.”

Article 44(c) of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 states: “…However, in order to graduate from the educational institution in which they are registered at the end of these periods, final year students are given two additional exam opportunities for all courses in which they have failed. Those who reduce the number of failed courses to five after these exams are given three semesters to retake these five courses; those who fail up to five courses without taking the additional exams are given four semesters (two academic years in institutions where education is based on the class promotion system); and those who fail only one course are given the right to retake the exams for that course without any limit, without losing their student status.”

Accordingly, final year students who have completed their maximum period of study (7 years) at the end of the Fall semester of the 2024-2025 academic year and wish to take the Additional Exams must apply in person to the Faculty Department Secretariat or send their complete application form, along with its attachments, to ilef@ibu.edu.tr by the end of working hours on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
