Supplementary Exam Right for Students Who Have Completed the Maximum Duration of Education Last Application 02 09 2024

According to Article 44 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and Article 18 of the Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Associate and Undergraduate Education-Teaching and Exam Regulation titled Supplementary Exams, supplementary exams will be held at the end of the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year for our senior students who have completed the maximum period and who apply with a petition. The I. Supplementary Exam will be held face-to-face between September 04-07, 2024 and the II. Supplementary Exam will be held between September 11-14, 2024.

Article 44, paragraph (c) of Law No. 2547 on Higher Education: “Students, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are registered for are given, except for the one-year foreign language preparatory class, must complete two-year associate degree programs in a maximum of four years, four-year undergraduate programs in a maximum of seven years, five-year undergraduate programs in a maximum of eight years, and six-year undergraduate programs in a maximum of nine years, regardless of whether they are registered for each semester, starting from the semester in which they are registered.”

Article 44, paragraph (c) of Law No. 2547 on Higher Education: “…However, in order to graduate from the educational institution they are registered for at the end of these periods, senior students are given the right to two additional exams for all courses they have failed. Those who reduce the number of failed courses to five courses at the end of these exams are given three semesters for these five courses, and students who fail up to five courses without taking additional exams are given four semesters (two academic years in institutions where education is provided on the basis of passing the grade); Those who fail a course are granted the right to take the exams of the course they failed, without benefiting from their student rights.”

Accordingly, senior students who have completed the maximum education period (7 years) at the end of the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year and want to take the Supplementary Exams must apply in person to the department secretariat of our Faculty until the end of business hours on Monday, September 2, 2024, or send their petitions, complete with their attachments, to the e-mail address ilef@ibu.edu.tr.
