Having a 75% or higher overall success level in the Master's program
Achieving a score of 60 or higher in the ALES exam or equivalent exam
Achieving a score of 55 or higher in the YDS, YÖKDİL or equivalent foreign language exams

Candidates must have at least a Master's degree. In order to transfer to the BAİBÜ Communication Sciences Doctorate Program, it is necessary to meet the admission requirements for the program. Candidates applying to the program must have completed any master's program with a grade point average of at least 75 out of 100. Candidates must have a minimum of 60 standard points in one of the numerical, verbal or equal weight score types of the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) or a score equivalent to 60 points in the internationally recognized GRE and GMAT exams within the framework of equivalence determined by the BAIBU Senate. They must have a minimum of 55 points in the Foreign Language Proficiency Level Determination Exam (YDS) or an equivalent score in one of the nationally or internationally recognized exams whose equivalence is accepted by ÖSYM. International student applications are accepted in accordance with the Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Postgraduate Education-Teaching and Examination Regulation. The Department may apply a one-year Scientific Preparatory Program to candidates deemed necessary upon the recommendation of the examination jury or consider the successful completion of certain courses given at the master's, scientific preparatory or undergraduate level as a prerequisite for admission to the program. Provisions not included above will be applied in accordance with the relevant provisions of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Postgraduate Education and Examination Regulation. Special Conditions for Admission to the Doctoral Program; Candidates must have a master's degree from a department related to communication such as journalism, public relations, radio, television and cinema, visual communication and design, graphics, graphic design, communication design, communication sciences, media, new media, digital media, digital game. Candidates who meet the above application conditions are accepted to the program entrance exam. Candidates who receive the minimum score determined by the department in the written and/or interview exam evaluation are considered successful. The ranking of successful candidates is made by the exam jury according to the general success grade. Student admission to the program is made according to the methods commonly used in Turkey. A national announcement is made regarding postgraduate student admission. In order to apply to the announcement, candidates who meet the criteria of - ALES Verbal score of at least 60, Foreign Language score of at least 55 and Undergraduate graduation average of at least 75 out of 100 are accepted to apply online. The science exam is held on the date and time specified in the announcement. The science exam consists of open-ended questions from different disciplines. Candidates who score at least 50 points in the science exam participate in the evaluation. In order to determine the students to be accepted in the evaluation; 50% of the ALES score, 10% of the Master's GPA, 15% of the Foreign Language score, 15% of the Science exam and 10% of the Interview exam are taken. These scores are added up and ranked from largest to smallest. In the student acceptance ranking, the number of students announced is accepted from largest to smallest. Instead of the main candidates who do not register, the right to register is given to the reserve candidates from the candidates who are at the top of the ranking. The applications of candidates whose master's field is outside of communication sciences are also accepted to the interdisciplinary Communication Sciences PhD program. The announcement, application, evaluation and processes are carried out in the same way as for graduates of the field. Candidates who are accepted from outside the field are given 1 or 2 semesters of scientific preparatory courses. Students who are successful in the scientific preparatory courses start taking master's courses.
